Job summary

ERM is hiring an experienced Senior Construction Safety Specialist to provide on-site safety oversight for a pharmaceutical client in Lebanon, IN. The role is full-time, 40-72 hours per week, for 12 months with renewal.

You will observe construction activities from an EHS perspective, ensure compliance with OSHA standards, and coordinate with the owner's team to maintain health and safety on site. Responsibilities include engaging with contractors, promoting safety culture, training workers,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, safety, or occupational health and safety, or related degree preferred.
• 15+ years on-site construction health & safety experience.
• CHST, ASP, CSP certifications preferred.
• Experience on large construction megaprojects.
• Pharmaceutical or high-tech project experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA General Industry and construction standards.
• OSHA 30-hour construction, confined space entry, and fall protection training preferred.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
• Able to multitask, travel, and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent project delivery and client service, with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to coordinate field personnel, subcontractors, and vendors.

Responsibilities

• On-site observation of construction activities from an EHS perspective.
• Promote client safety culture across contractor groups.
• Identify hazards and influence safe practices.
• Document activities per EHS requirements.
• Train on-site workers on EHS oversight program.
• Train on-site subcontractors on EHS program requirements.
• Assist with project directives from Client EH&S personnel.
• Report compliance with safety procedures and plans.
• Maintain safety documentation (JHA, SDS, TRAINING records).
• Participate in daily pre-shift coordination meetings.
• Review and comment on GC JHAs and obtain signatures.
• Conduct daily site inspections and propose corrective actions.
• Issue daily site observation reports.
