Job summary

Inova Outpatient Oncology Clinics seeks a dedicated Patient Access Specialist Sr. to support patient admissions and scheduling for oncology procedures. The role is full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm, based in Fairfax, VA.

You will verify insurance details, assist with authorization needs, and guide patients through financial responsibilities to maximize reimbursement while maintaining a safe care environment.

Qualifications

• 2 years of healthcare patient access experience.
• High School diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Verifies and enters insurance information and authorization/referral requirements into databases.
• Counsels patients on financial liability using available financial counseling tools to maximize reimbursement.
• Conducts pre-service activities such as insurance verification/submission to support scheduling for medical procedures.
• Communicates clearly about insurance benefits and patient liability to patients and families.
• Delivers timely, accurate information and assists with admissions processes across the clinic.
