Job summary

McKinstry is seeking a Senior Project Engineer - Offsite Manufacturing in Seattle, WA, to coordinate daily production activity across HVAC piping, mechanical equipment, structural steel, and controls. You’ll align fabrication with the build schedule, maintaining records in ERP and reporting production health to the program team.

You will work cross-functionally with fabrication leads, supply chain, engineering, and quality to resolve shop-floor issues, schedule inbound deliveries, and support

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field preferred.
• 4–6+ years in construction coordination, MEP project engineering, manufacturing, or logistics preferred.
• Familiarity with HVAC, piping, structural steel, electrical, or controls systems in a construction or fabrication context is a strong plus.
• Basic understanding of ERP, scheduling, and shop-floor systems.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, mechanical and electrical plans, standards, and specifications.
• Advanced proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook required.
• Working knowledge of SharePoint preferred.
• Knowledge of manufacturing financial programs and software required.
• Basic estimating skills preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to work with and manage outside vendors and subcontractors.
• Highly motivated self-starter with high-level direction.
• Knowledge of applicable codes preferred.
• OSHA-10 or OSHA-30 Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day coordination of production activity within an assigned value stream or production line.
• Track material readiness across mechanical, piping, structural, electrical, and controls scopes; sequence fabrication against the build schedule.
• Maintain records in ERP and scheduling systems and generate status reports for the program team.
