2% base salary increase is scheduled to become effective with the first full pay period that begins after July 1, 2025.
The Senior Office Assistant in the Building and Safety Division position is approved for FY25/26 and may start after July 1, 2025.
Recruitment may be used to establish an eligibility list for future vacancies.

IDEAL CANDIDATE
Our ideal candidate will provide clerical and administrative support within the Building and Safety Department. This role is responsible for document processing, customer assistance, records management, and office coordination. The incumbent utilizes word processing and database software to prepare reports and maintain departmental files, ensuring compliance with city policies and regulations. The Senior Office Assistant serves as a key point of contact for staff and the public, answering inquiries, routing correspondence, and facilitating office operations. Their responsibilities include budget tracking, meeting coordination, timekeeping, and assisting in departmental projects.
Minimum Qualifications
A typical way of obtaining the knowledge, skills, and abilities outlined above is graduation from high school or G.E.D. equivalent; and one year of increasingly responsible office administrative or secretarial experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
About The Building & Safety Division
The Building and Safety Division ensures compliance with city and state building codes to promote safety and quality construction. The division provides essential services such as permit issuance, plan checks, inspections, and code enforcement to support residents, businesses, and developers.
