In this vital role, you will be at the heart of all the action. Our MA’s facilitate the planning and organizing of all critical activities for our kidney transplant patients to ensure they receive the highest quality care. You will complete care coordination activities as well as perform blood draws and specimen collection. Your work ensures patients feel supported and that we capture accurate and timely lab results, which are essential for monitoring overall patient health.
The ideal candidate has strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to support patients through complex medical processes, excellent technical skills, and is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered service.

Full time position
Must be available to work mornings starting between 7:00 and 8:00
Working on site Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday
Licensed in state of Georgia preferred but not required
RESPONSIBILITIES
Care Coordination
Conduct initial outreach to new patients, gather intake information, and schedule consultations and evaluations
Provide patients with clear, accurate education regarding the transplant process, required testing, timelines, and next steps
Serve as a primary point of contact for patient questions, follow-ups, and care coordination needs
Own and manage the patient call center function, ensuring timely, empathetic, and effective communication
Track and respond to patient inquiries, coordinate messages between patients and providers, and document communication in the EHR
Coordinate multidisciplinary care plans and logistics across departments
Venipuncture and specimen collection
Venipuncture and specimen collections performed accurately and timely
Complete centrifuge and invert vials
Prepare specimens for shipment and work with clinic staff to ensure proper shipping
Give proper patient collection instructions
Instruct patients in post phlebotomy care
Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by complying with safety regulations
Properly dispose of bio-hazardous materials
Obtain specimens for microbiology testing
Order sufficient supplies toperform the workload and to rotate stock and prevent the use of outdated supplies
Greeting and registering patients
Greet and register patients in a polite and professional manner
Problem solve efficiently and in a timely manner
Locate missing lab orders and/or specimens
Additional responsibilities
Cleaning and disinfecting work areas
Rotating stock items to avoid outdated supplies, maintaining inventories
Support in collecting medical history, providing education, and scheduling appointments as needed
Collaborate with NP on the daily schedule and support in keeping schedule on track
QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of invasive procedures for capillary, venous blood withdrawal. Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment.
Skill to be competent, professional and efficient on the telephone. Demonstrated accurate blood draw skills. Required computer skills to enter patient data and navigate computer applications i.e. EPIC and the Lab/Radiology Information System.
Ability to maintain quality control standards. Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations. Ability to clearly communicate verbally.
Education: High School diploma or GED; completion of 6-month Phlebotomy Certificate program through an accredited school.
Experience: Minimum of one year phlebotomy experience.
Certificate/License: Medical Assistant-Phlebotomist (MA-Pbt) certification with GA State to perform capillary, and venous invasive procedures for blood withdrawal under the supervision of a health care practitioner. BLS certification required.

Salary/ Wage Range
