Job summary

San Joaquin General Hospital invites applications for an Occupational Therapist-Senior to evaluate patients, plan and implement therapy, and coordinate care with physicians and staff in a busy hospital setting.

The role requires a current California OT license. Minimum patterns include 1 year (Pattern I) or 2 years (Pattern II) of relevant experience, with driver’s license if required. This is a full-time, on-site position in San Joaquin County.

Qualifications

• EITHER PATTERN I – One year of experience as an Occupational Therapist in San Joaquin County.
• OR PATTERN II – Two years of progressively responsible experience as a licensed occupational therapist performing diagnostic and/or therapeutic occupational therapy techniques.
• AND FOR BOTH PATTERNS – Must possess and maintain a current license as an Occupational Therapist issued by the California Board of Occupational Therapy; and if required, a valid California driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Performs occupational therapy evaluations and interprets findings.
• Plans and implements therapeutic treatment, sets goals, and uses equipment properly.
• Coordinates treatment programs with physicians, nurses, and staff.
• Attends staff meetings and in-service education; may assist with orientation of new staff.
• Maintains accurate records and prepares written reports.
• May lead other therapists or coordinate internships; may assist in program projects.
