Job summary

Carrier Global Corporation is seeking an experienced Observability Platform Engineer to lead enterprise observability initiatives across cloud and on-prem environments. The role focuses on defining architectures, improving telemetry, and guiding teams through modern instrumentation practices.

The candidate should bring 7+ years in observability, SRE, and DevOps, with strong IaC and GitOps experience, plus hands-on work with OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, and Kubernetes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• 7+ years in observability, monitoring, APM, SRE, DevOps, or related roles.
• 7+ years designing and operating enterprise-scale observability platforms using IaC, GitOps, and CI/CD.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and large-scale Kubernetes is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Define architectures, standards, integration patterns, and reusable observability solutions.
• Design and optimize observability across cloud, on-prem, Kubernetes, containers, APIs, databases, and middleware.
• Standardize metrics, logs, traces, events, dashboards, alerting, and data governance.
• Lead OpenTelemetry adoption and telemetry pipelines across platforms.
• Provide technical leadership for tools like Grafana, Prometheus, Tempo, and OpenTelemetry.
• Drive automation through APIs, IaC, CI/CD, and GitOps.
