Job summary

OneMain Financial seeks a Senior Monitoring Engineer to design and maintain advanced monitoring and observability solutions across critical applications and infrastructure. You will implement instrumentation, dashboards, and alerting to improve reliability and MTTR, collaborating with engineering teams to embed best practices and automation.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years in a technology organization with hands-on monitoring/production operations.
• Strong experience building instrumentation and alerting for large, complex environments.
• Experience with distributed tracing and telemetry data collection.
• Familiarity with code scripting (Bash/PowerShell) and at least one programming language.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain monitoring and observability solutions for critical systems.
• Develop instrumentation, telemetry, and alerting using Grafana, AppDynamics, Elastic Stack and OpenTelemetry.
• Create dashboards and standard alert payloads to reduce MTTR.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to document observability requirements.
• Automate monitoring tasks and improve operational efficiency.
• Support incident response with reliable monitoring data and root-cause analysis.
