Job summary

Q2 is seeking a senior software engineer to own observability and reliability across the platform. You will work full-stack, design a scalable monitoring architecture, and collaborate with cloud, infra, and development teams to improve performance and incident response.

This hybrid role is based in Austin, TX, offering hands-on prototyping of AI-powered observability tools and opportunities for on-call responsibility. 8+ years in software/system integration required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; 8+ years experience.
• Expertise in software development and system integration for observability platforms.
• Advanced proficiency with monitoring frameworks and analytics tools.
• Proficient in at least one of C# or Go; RESTful API experience.
• Extensive experience in cloud infrastructure and DevOps toolchains.
• Strong understanding of infrastructure as code and event-driven automation.
• Proven track record designing observability systems in high-growth environments.
• Ability to lead complex cross-team initiatives and deliver scalable results.
• Experience with Linux and Windows scripting (Bash/Perl/Python/PowerShell).
• Experience with Grafana and Splunk for analytics.

Responsibilities

• Translate business into solutions — turn ambiguous business needs into architected, detectable, automatable systems.
• Extend our agentic AI platform — develop and grow our cloud-hosted AI observability platform including on-prem options.
• Architect at enterprise scale — design 24/7, cross-region-resilient tooling used by teams across the company.
• Work with cross-functional teams to map system integrations and design for real-world environments.
• Modernize high-risk pathways with secure, self-service tooling.
• Own end-to-end features including light on-call responsibilities and observability automation.
