Job summary

Q2, a leading digital banking and technology company, is seeking a Principal Engineer to own end-to-end observability and automation across cloud and on-prem environments. You’ll translate complex business needs into scalable architectures and partner with security, platform, and product teams to deliver resilient, automated solutions.

You will mentor engineers, drive CI/CD and IaC practices, and shape the technical roadmap.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field plus extensive software engineering/observability tooling experience.
• Expertise in C#, Go, and scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
• Deep understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
• Experience with monitoring/analytics platforms and CI/CD practices.
• Proven ability to lead complex technical projects and influence cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Architect and implement advanced observability and automation frameworks across cloud and on-prem environments (AWS, Azure, GCP, VMware).
• Lead the development of full-stack applications and APIs for automated data collection, correlation, and visualization.
• Define and enforce best practices for system design, code quality, security, and performance.
• Collaborate with engineering, DevOps, and product teams to identify automation opportunities and deliver scalable solutions.
• Drive continuous improvement in monitoring, alerting, and incident response systems.
• Mentor senior and mid-level engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and innovation.
• Own the lifecycle of observability tools and platforms, including CI/CD pipelines and IaC.
• Ensure compliance with security, availability, confidentiality, and privacy policies.
• Participate in strategic planning, roadmap development, and technical decision-making.
