Job summary

Canoga Perkins, headquartered in Los Angeles, seeks a Senior O-RAN System Design Engineer to lead architecture, implementation and deployment of cutting-edge 5G transport solutions. You will work on RAN, Ethernet and IP switching, defining product directions and engaging customers with technical insights.

The role requires deep expertise in O-RAN/3GPP, TSN, and advanced networking, with strong leadership and collaboration across cross-functional teams. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in data communication product development or equivalent.
• PhD preferred; MS/CE acceptable with experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lead highly technical teams independently.
• Experience with O-RAN, 5G, and TSN advantages for products.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop O-RAN based system solutions for 5G use cases.
• Represent Canoga Perkins in industry groups (O-RAN, OCP).
• Translate industry trends into actionable product features.
• Design L2/L3 MAC/RRC optimizations and document for customers.
• Support customer-facing teams with technical advantages.
• Assist deployment and post-deployment support to customers.
• Travel for conferences and customer meetings.
