Job summary

Canoga Perkins is seeking a Systems Software Engineer to design and support embedded software infrastructure for 5G Ethernet transport products. You will work on SONiC OS integration, build systems, and networking components in a Linux-based environment.

The role emphasizes kernel driver enhancements, ONIE integration, and cross‑functional collaboration to meet performance and security targets in a cutting‑edge networking portfolio.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• 3+ years in embedded systems software development and infrastructure support.
• Strong knowledge of embedded build systems and infrastructure tools.
• Experience with SONiC OS and ONIE including build framework management.
• Familiarity with Secure Boot, TLS, and FIPS-140 certification processes.

Responsibilities

• Support the full lifecycle development of embedded software infrastructure from requirements to deployment.
• Analyze, troubleshoot, and enhance existing embedded software modules.
• Develop, debug, and optimize Linux kernel and driver modules for high‑performance networking devices.
• Lead SONiC OS build system management including customization and integration.
• Collaborate with hardware, software, and QA teams for integration and testing.
• Engage with vendors for toolchain support and infrastructure optimization.
• Participate in code reviews, branching/merging strategies, and release processes.
• Contribute to automation, build optimizations, and CI/CD improvements.
