Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Salt Lake seeks a Lead Nutrition Program Specialist to promote healthy meals and snacks for youth aged 3 to 18. You will create menus, purchase foods, and manage a monthly budget while overseeing CACFP and SFSP paperwork.

Responsibilities include meal planning, inventory, data reporting, compliance with state and federal nutrition programs, and leadership of nutrition staff across two sites. This full-time role reports to the Director of Programs & Quality.

Qualifications

  • Experience in tracking and maintaining health and nutrition services.
  • Considerable knowledge of the administration and management of child nutrition programs and the federal and state laws governing them.
  • In-depth understanding of the principles and practices of nutrition and food service operations including: menu planning; food safety and production; procurement systems; program, operational, and financial management; and nutrition education.

Responsibilities

  • Meal planning in accordance with nutritional guidelines; prepare and administer meals for Members; develop and maintain inventory across sites.
  • Budget management: maintain and report on the budget for the program; track expenses and supplies.
  • Data collection: record and report accurate meal count data; document meals, allergies, and food restrictions; prepare monthly reports.
  • Federally funded food programs: act as sponsor for CACFP, CACFP At-Risk, and SFSP; maintain relationships with partners and vendors; lead health department inquiries and inspections.
  • Management: direct manager of Child Nutrition Professionals at two Club sites.
  • Safety and health: ensure sanitation of kitchen, maintain Food Handler permits and certifications; stay current with best practices.
