Job summary

6 Degrees Search seeks an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) in Connecticut to join a premier nonprofit skilled nursing facility. Reporting to the Director of Nursing, you will lead charge nurses and supervise staff, ensure regulatory compliance, and guide QAPI initiatives to improve resident well-being.

You will oversee staffing, clinical rounds, care planning, budgeting, staff development, and collaboration with physicians and agencies.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (ADN or BSN)
• Current RN license in Connecticut; CPR certification
• Minimum 2 years of nursing supervisory/leadership experience in a skilled nursing facility or hospital
• Minimum 6 months of restorative nursing experience
• In-depth knowledge of long-term care regulations (CMS Requirements)
• Strong clinical judgment and documentation skills

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and directing day-to-day nursing operations in compliance with standards
• Provide leadership to Charge Nurses and Supervisors and oversee staff training
• Conduct rounds to monitor care delivery, medications, and infection control
• Lead development of resident care plans and assessments
• Manage staffing needs, scheduling, and staffing information posting
• Support recruitment, licensing verification, and evaluations of nursing staff
• Coordinate care with physicians, consultants, and interdisciplinary teams
• Support QAPI programs and participate in surveys and corrective plans
• Oversee medication administration and reporting of errors
• Assist with department budgeting and equipment/resource planning
• Partner with Staff Development to plan training and ensure policy adherence
