Job summary

Keystone Distinction Group is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to join a premier Connecticut skilled nursing facility. You will lead charge nurses, drive QAPI initiatives, and ensure regulatory compliance while directing day-to-day clinical operations.

The role requires an RN license in Connecticut, ADN/BSN, and 2+ years of supervisory nursing experience in long-term care. Join a collaborative team focused on residents’ well-being and high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (ADN/BSN).
• Current Connecticut RN license; active CPR certification.
• Minimum 2 years of nursing supervisory/leadership experience.
• Minimum 6 months of restorative nursing experience.
• Deep knowledge of long-term care regulations and CMS Participation.
• Strong clinical judgment and documentation skills; able to perform physical rounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Nursing in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing day-to-day operations of the nursing department in compliance with standards.
• Provide direct leadership to Charge Nurses and Nurse Supervisors; train supervisory staff and delegate operational authority.
• Conduct daily clinical rounds to monitor care delivery, medications, treatments, and infection prevention.
• Lead resident assessments and develop written, person-centered care plans.
• Manage staffing needs, scheduling, and posting daily staffing information.
• Support recruitment, orientation, licensure verification, and performance evaluations of nursing personnel.
• Coordinate care with physicians, consultants, and interdisciplinary teams; ensure regulatory surveys readiness.
• Lead and support the QAPI program and assist with plans of correction.
• Oversee medication administration, treatment schedules, and report errors to the Director of Nursing.
• Assist with budgeting and equipment/supply/resource allocation.
• Plan staff development and ensure adherence to policies and safety standards.
