Job summary

HCP Talent LLC is assisting a premier nonprofit skilled nursing facility in Connecticut in recruiting an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON). This on-site role reports to the Director of Nursing and drives day-to-day clinical and administrative operations across the Nursing Services Department.

The ADON will supervise charge nurses and managers, ensure regulatory compliance, lead QAPI initiatives, monitor care quality, and support staffing, budgeting, and staff development initiatives to

Qualifications

• RN license in CT required; CPR certification required.
• Minimum of two years of nursing supervisory/leadership experience in skilled nursing, hospital, or related healthcare setting.
• Six months of restorative nursing experience.
• In-depth knowledge of long-term care regulations, CMS Requirements of Participation, medical practices, and state health codes.
• Strong independent clinical judgment, documentation, and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and directing day-to-day nursing operations in compliance with standards.
• Provide leadership and oversight to Charge Nurses and Supervisors; train in supervisory principles.
• Conduct daily clinical rounds to monitor care delivery, medication passes, and infection prevention.
• Lead development of resident care plans through clinical assessments and PASARR.
• Coordinate staffing and assign daily work; ensure regulatory staffing requirements are met.
• Support recruitment, licensing verification, and performance evaluations of nursing staff.
• Coordinate care continuity with physicians, consultants, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Lead QAPI initiatives and participate in state/federal surveys; develop plans of correction.
