Job summary

Framatome North America in Lynchburg, Virginia seeks a senior software engineer to join the NDE solutions team. You will work with mechanical, electrical and software engineers to design, implement and test control systems for robotic inspection platforms.

The role requires a Bachelor's in CS/Engineering and 10+ years of related experience, with strong C++/C#, Linux, Windows development and .NET/MFC expertise. Travel to customer sites is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
• Minimum of 10 years of related experience.
• Strong knowledge of core concepts, practices, and procedures in the area.
• Understanding of network protocols and deployment across environments.
• Experience with C++ and/or C# and with Linux and Windows development.
• Experience with MFC and/or .NET.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with all staff levels.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a multi-disciplinary engineering team (mechanical, electrical, software).
• Create first-of-a-kind solutions to meet customer needs and emergent issues.
• Support design of systems operating in challenging environments with strict quality requirements.
• Perform software development for various control systems.
• Participate in all aspects of the software development life cycle.
• Support tooling qualification and acceptance testing.
• Provide technical support for newly deployed robotic systems.
• Travel periodically to customer sites to see designs in action.
