Job summary

Framatome Robotics Software Engineer position located in Lynchburg, VA. You will work within the NDE Solutions team to design and implement software for robotic inspection systems across nuclear plants worldwide.

You will collaborate with mechanical, electrical and software engineers to deliver first-of-a-kind control software, while traveling to customer sites as needed and ensuring robust deployment in challenging environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of related experience.
• Understanding of network protocols and application deployment across environments.
• Experience with C++ and/or C#.
• Experience with Linux and Windows Development.
• Experience with MFC and/or .NET.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve fundamental technical issues.
• Good communication skills with ability to work effectively with all levels of staff and management.
• Ability to develop and maintain good interpersonal relationships; work collaboratively within a team environment.
• Ability to change priorities quickly, confront issues directly and work well as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Create first-of-a-kind solutions to meet customer needs and respond to emergent issues.
• Support design of systems that must operate in challenging environments while meeting rigid quality requirements.
• Perform software development for various control systems.
• Participate in all aspects of the software development life cycle.
• Support tooling qualification and acceptance testing.
• Provide technical support for newly deployed robotic systems.
• Periodically travel to customer sites to see your designs put into action.
