Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a senior nuclear mechanical engineer in Phoenix to lead power uprate projects and support design and licensing activities. The role involves interface with clients, proposal development, and budgeting for major systems in existing plants.

Requires a strong background in thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics, plus 15+ years in nuclear power and excellent report writing. Hybrid work setup available, with in-office three days a week.

Qualifications

• BSME from ABET-accredited program.
• 15+ years in the nuclear power industry.
• Experience with uprates and turbine refurbishments.
• Knowledge of mechanical engineering design for nuclear plants.
• Strong technical report writing and calculation skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Perform power uprates consulting in nuclear industry.
• Interface with clients and project teams to present progress.
• Develop engineering proposals and cost estimates.
• Manage resources and budgets for tasks.
• Review heat balance, pumps, heat exchangers, and hazards.
• Lead and mentor junior staff.
• Attend client meetings and site walkdowns.
