Sargent & Lundy is seeking an experienced engineer for nuclear power uprates and turbine retrofit projects. You'll interact with clients, prepare proposals, and manage resources while delivering high-quality engineering analyses.

The role emphasizes senior technical leadership, collaboration across departments, and precise reporting. A hybrid work arrangement is offered with in-office days and remote flexibility.

Qualifications

• Requires a BSME from an ABET-accredited program with interest in thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics.
• 15+ years of experience in the nuclear power industry.
• Experience with nuclear power uprates and/or turbine retrofit projects.
• Knowledge of codes, standards, and regulations for mechanical engineering in nuclear plants.
• Strong technical report writing and calculations skills.
• Ability to interface with clients and project teams on scope and status.

Responsibilities

• Perform consulting level work for power uprates in the nuclear industry.
• Interface with clients and project teams to present technical discussions and project status.
• Develop engineering proposals and cost estimates.
• Manage resources and develop task estimates and budgets.
• Review heat balance calculations, heat exchangers, and plant components for uprates.
• Review reports and equipment evaluations for client requirements.
• Lead and mentor junior staff on engineering tasks.
• Conduct independent review of work and calculations.
• Attend client meetings and site walkdowns to validate scope.
