Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking a Senior Engineer in Outage Engineering to design, develop and test outage servicing tools and equipment used in BWR and PWR outages worldwide. You will lead mechanical design efforts, analyze new products and collaborate with fabrication teams to deliver reliable solutions.

Located at the GVH Headquarters in Wilmington, NC, this role requires at least eight years in mechanical engineering, travel up to 20%, and the ability to obtain U.S. site access.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited college or university.
• At least 8 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering and/or machine design experience.

Responsibilities

• Execute the design, development and analysis for specialty tooling and equipment using sound engineering principles and adhering to engineering standards, practices, procedures, and product requirements.
• Develop Outage Servicing Tooling and Equipment of high complexity.
• Demonstrate solid knowledge of Mechanical Design principles including mechanical design, structural design, welding, joints and fabrication techniques.
• Proactively communicate and deliver assignments on time.
• Identify and mitigate technical risk.
• Generate fabrication drawings, specifications, and direct communication with fabricators.
• Generate operational instructions for newly developed tools and equipment.
• Contribute to design reviews and verifications with mentorship to peers.
• Provide emergent issue response to Field Services teams and Customers.
