Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Mechanical/Nuclear Engineer for hybrid work, based in Peachtree Corners, GA. The role involves designing and reviewing nuclear power plant systems, preparing modification packages, drawings, and specifications, and leading project teams.

Ideal candidates have a BS/MS in an ABET-accredited engineering program, 5+ years in the nuclear industry, and familiarity with relevant codes and standards; a PE license is preferred.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, Systems Engineering, or General Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
• 5+ years of experience in the nuclear power industry.
• PE license is preferred; working knowledge of codes, standards, and regulations for mechanical engineering design of power plants.

Responsibilities

• Develop/modify modification packages for operating nuclear power plants.
• Produce/review functional mechanical drawings and system drawings.
• Perform engineering analyses and evaluations supporting modifications and operation of plant systems.
• Prepare technical specifications and procurement documents for plant equipment.
• Evaluate vendor bids for plant equipment.
• Conduct studies and option evaluations for plant modifications.
• Develop engineering cost estimates for client-requested work scopes.
• Interface with clients at offices or plant sites and present engineering tasks/status.
• Lead engineering project teams.
