Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an experienced I&C Design Engineer to upgrade and modernize nuclear power plants with leading control technologies. You will lead and support projects, coordinating with mechanical, electrical, and structural disciplines to deliver robust control solutions.

The role emphasizes technical execution, project management, and client liaison, with a strong focus on reviewing design documentation and delivering clear technical reports.

Qualifications

• BS degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• 10+ years of experience in I&C Design Engineering; at least 5 years at a nuclear facility.
• PE license preferred.
• Clear communication in speech and writing.
• Technically knowledgeable of equipment and pre-engineered systems for design.
• Experience liaising with clients in lead or support roles.
• Experience in reviewing design documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support I&C projects with a focus on technical execution and project management.
• Develop Digital Systems Design—PLC, DCS, HSI, and networked computer systems.
• Prepare control system functional and procurement specifications for nuclear plant control systems.
• Interface with the client to ensure proper project execution and satisfaction.
• Prepare and review diagrams and drawings for new and upgraded controls solutions.
• Evaluate vendor bids from a technical perspective and witness FAT per client.
