Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an experienced Component Qualification Engineer to support environmental qualification activities for nuclear power plant projects in Chicago. You will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team and guide less-experienced project members on EQ-related tasks.

The role involves reviewing qualification reports, developing specifications, and applying Arrhenius-based life assessments, with travel to client and vendor sites as needed.

Qualifications

• BS in engineering with emphasis in Electrical or Mechanical from ABET-accredited program.
• 5+ years in component environmental qualification in nuclear plants.
• Knowledge of nuclear plant equipment functionality and materials.
• Familiarity with NRC IE Notices, Bulletins, and IEEE standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review calculations and qualification reports from vendors.
• Develop specifications and revise client design basis documents.
• Support EQ-related inquiries from clients.
• Perform environmental qualification life assessments using Arrhenius method.
