Sargent & Lundy seeks a senior component qualification engineer for the nuclear power plant industry in Chicago, IL. Qualifications

• BS in engineering with emphasis in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• 10+ years of experience in component environmental qualification activities in the nuclear power plant industry.
• Knowledge of nuclear power plant equipment functionality, materials of construction, failure modes, etc.
• Familiarity with NRC IE Notices, Bulletins, Generic Letters, Regulatory Guides, NUREG and IEEE standards.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a team of component qualification engineers and guide the work of less experienced project team members.
• Prepare and review calculations and review qualification reports from vendors.
• Develop specifications and revise client design basis documents; support EQ inquiries from clients.
• Perform Environmental Qualification life assessments and linear regression analysis; coordinate testing and anomalies resolution.
• Coordinate EQ testing at facilities and travel to sites for design reviews and field verification.
