Job summary

Duke Energy is seeking a Nuclear Engineer III / Senior Nuclear Engineer to work from a nuclear facility in the US. The role involves solving complex engineering problems, developing advanced skills, and working with increasing independence.

Hybrid work is expected, with occasional travel to sites and NRC/compliance involvement. The position requires ABET-accredited engineering education and 4–6 years of engineering experience, including at least 1 year in nuclear engineering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
• A Master’s degree in engineering will be considered in lieu of a B.S. Engineering.
• Minimum of 4–6 years engineering experience.
• Minimum of 1 year of nuclear experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides engineering/technical guidance to analyze complex problems with long-term impact.
• Plans, schedules, and coordinates activities to meet business goals with limited standardization.
• Prepares technical reports, calculations, and sketches and suggests process improvements.
