Job summary

Duke Energy is seeking a Fuel Mechanical Engineer in a hybrid role (Charlotte/Raleigh/New Hill, NC). You will perform fuel rod mechanical analyses, support nuclear fuel examinations, and review design changes to ensure quality and timely delivery.

The role requires strong communication and project management within the Nuclear Fuels Engineering division. Open to Engineer III or Senior Engineer with 4+ years of experience, and 1 year nuclear experience.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical or Nuclear Engineering from ABET program; Master's considered.
• Minimum 4 years of engineering experience; 1 year nuclear experience.
• Fundamentals of Engineering certificate and/or PE license desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering/technical guidance for routine fuel mechanical performance issues.
• Plan, organize, estimate, schedule and monitor work with management collaboration.
• Prepare technical reports, calculations and sketches related to problems.
