Job summary

Duke Energy Corporation in Seneca, SC is seeking an experienced Nuclear Engineer to advance complex electrical systems within the Operations Support Engineering team. This role focuses on reliability, maintenance planning, and cross-functional collaboration.

You will own electrical systems and components, develop solutions, and contribute to station goals while working with minimal supervision. Hybrid work arrangement with on-site presence required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Not Technology) from an ABET accredited program.
• Master’s degree in engineering will be considered in lieu of the B.S. degree.
• Minimum of 4 years of engineering experience.
• 1 year of nuclear power plant experience
• In lieu of 1 year of nuclear experience, a designated qualified individual may oversee until fully qualified.
• Graduation from a four-year college with a BS in Engineering (Not Technology) from ABET accredited program.

Responsibilities

• Experience with the Station electrical systems and components, such as the Switchyard, plant auxiliary distribution system, relays, breakers, and/or switchgear.
• Serve as the site SME on their assigned area(s) of responsibility.
• Coordinate cross functionally with other departments to ensure concerns, schedules, budgeting and related issues are properly managed.
• Provide engineering/technical expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis and resolution of problems of increasing scope and complexity.
• Contribute to team decision-making in the accomplishment of business goals through planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling and monitoring.
