Job summary

Our client nonprofit organization seeks an Accounting Manager to support a portfolio of mission-driven nonprofit clients in a fully remote environment. The role oversees day-to-day accounting, closes, reporting, and grant compliance while mentoring staff.

The ideal candidate has 7–10+ years in accounting, strong nonprofit experience, and CPA preferred. Experience with outsourced/public accounting and major platforms like Intacct, QuickBooks, or NetSuite is valued.

Qualifications

• 7–10+ years of accounting/finance experience.
• Strong nonprofit accounting experience (fund accounting, grants, donor restrictions).
• CPA preferred.
• Experience with outsourced accounting or public accounting preferred.
• Experience reviewing work and managing staff.
• Experience with systems such as Intacct, QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar platforms.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations for multiple nonprofit clients.
• Oversee monthly close, financial reporting, reconciliations, accruals, and journal entries.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis.
• Ensure accurate fund accounting and grant compliance.
• Assist with audit preparation and external auditor coordination.
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff within a multi-client environment.
• Partner with leadership on process improvements and technology optimization initiatives.
