Job summary

CLA is seeking a Controller for our Non-Profit Services (CAAS) practice in Southern New England. Opportunities are available in Quincy, Andover, Boston, Worcester, New Bedford, MA locations as well as Cranston, RI.

You will act as the Controller for designated nonprofit clients, provide accounting guidance, and manage multiple engagements with deadlines. Seven years of experience, a BA, and nonprofit/public accounting exposure are valued; CPA is preferred.

Qualifications

• Seven years of accounting/financial experience required.
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Public accounting experience preferred.
• Nonprofit experience preferred.
• CPA certification preferred.
• Project and client management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Act as the Controller for the designated clients you service.
• Advise clients on accounting and finance best practices.
• Provide project management expertise by managing multiple clients, work, and deadlines.
• Prepare and analyze client financial statements and make recommendations.
• Foster and build opportunities and attend industry-leading events and trainings.
• Maintain knowledge of the client’s organizational policies and procedures, federal and state policies and directives, and current accounting standards.
• Advise management on short-term and long-term financial objectives, policies, and actions.
