Job summary

CLA is seeking a Controller for our Non-Profit Services (CAAS) practice. You will act as the Controller for designated clients, advise on accounting best practices, and manage multiple engagements with deadlines.

Ideal candidates have eight years of accounting/financial experience, a Bachelor's degree, and nonprofit exposure; CPA is preferred but not required. This role supports compensation considerations across multiple Midwest locations.

Qualifications

• Eight years of relevant accounting/financial experience required.
• Bachelor's degree required; combination of experience and education accepted.
• Public accounting experience preferred and nonprofit experience highly preferred.
• CPA certification preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Act as the Controller for designated clients and provide advisory services.
• Manage multiple clients, work, and deadlines with project management discipline.
• Prepare and analyze client financial statements and offer recommendations.
• Build opportunities and participate in industry events and trainings.
• Maintain knowledge of policies, directives, and current accounting standards.
• Advise management on short- and long-term financial objectives and actions.
