Job summary

The Harvard University, Faculty of Arts and Sciences is hiring a Non-Sponsored Funds Analyst to manage the financial operations of the FAS non-sponsored funds portfolio. You will work closely with the Manager of Non-Sponsored Funds to ensure funds are properly managed and aligned with FAS priorities.

You will consolidate data from multiple systems, perform routine accounting entries, and produce reports for budget-to-actual analysis, while upholding strict governance and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
• Minimum of 5 years’ relevant work experience.
• Experience with MS Office Suite, advanced Excel skills.
• Knowledge of fund accounting.
• Basic understanding of non-profit regulations.
• Demonstrated experience with financial systems and data query tools; Harvard systems including HART, Oracle Financials, and Advance.
• Ability to handle complex and confidential information with discretion.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Effective interpersonal skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Support the Manager of Non-Sponsored Funds in routine review and analysis of fund balances.
• Consolidate data from disparate systems to provide reporting.
• Handle accounting entries for non-sponsored funds.
• Resolve issues with balances and hard-to-use funds.
• Perform internal control and regulatory testing.
• Reconcile TBD Gift and Endowments funds and coordinate with partners.
• Calculate support allocations to professorships and restricted funds.
• Review capitalization and decapitalization requests.
• Gather and analyze metrics to identify reporting streamlining opportunities.
• Serve as primary contact for ad hoc questions.
• Assist in identifying training needs and developing educational materials.
