The Manager of Non-Sponsored Funds leads financial operations andplanning for the Faculty of Arts and Sciences (FAS) non-sponsoredfunds portfolio. As a critical role within FAS Finance function,the Manager of Non-Sponsored Funds will help ensure that the FAS’snon-sponsored funding sources – including endowments, current usegifts, construction gifts, loan funds, and unrestricted designatedfunds – are properly managed, utilized, and aligned with FASpriorities.
This role serves as a primary point of contact for non-sponsoredfunds and will work collaboratively with both FAS departments andcenters and University organization such as the Office of GiftAdministration and the Office of the Controller. With a strongfoundation in fund accounting and University policies andprocedures, this role will also ensure that all funds are managedproperly to donors’ terms and that all regulatory requirements aremet.
This role will supervise the Non-Sponsored Funds team and managethe lifecycle of a fund (including new fund creation,acknowledgement of terms, release from restriction audits, donorrelations and stewardship requests, and write-off and disabling offund, where applicable).
Work is performed in an office setting;this is a hybrid position requiring 3 days on campus
Sitting and using near vision forreading and computer work for extended periods of time
CPA desirable
This position has been determined by school or unit leaders thatsome of the duties and responsibilities can be effectivelyperformed at a non-Harvard location. The work schedule and locationwill be set by the department at its discretion and based uponoperational needs. When not working at a Harvard orHarvard-designated location, employees in hybrid positions mustwork in a Harvard registered state in compliance with theUniversity’s Policy on Employment Outside of Massachusetts .Additional details will be discussed during the interview process.Certain visa types and funding sources may limit work location.Individuals must meet work location sponsorship requirements priorto employment.
