Job summary

World Business Lenders, LLC is seeking a Senior Credit Underwriter to lead complex underwriting for Non-QM mortgage lending and advise the Chief Lending Officer on optimal credit solutions balancing risk and business goals.

You will oversee underwriting teams, mentor junior underwriters, drive process improvements, and collaborate across functions to enhance credit quality, efficiency, and funded volume. Remote work with EST hours and full-time contractor status.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive underwriting experience in Non-QM mortgage lending.
• Experience interpreting credit policies, underwriting guidelines, and mortgage regulations.

Responsibilities

• Act as Chief Lending Officer’s trusted advisor and lead complex underwriting activities.
• Rework denied loans into approvable structures where possible.
• Analyze trends in denials and fallout to recommend policy or process changes.
• Support automation efforts by documenting underwriting decision logic.
• Serve as subject matter expert for complex borrower scenarios.
