Job summary

Marathon Petroleum Corporation is seeking a senior commercial strategy professional to develop and execute optimization plans for NGLs, coordinating with trading, operations, logistics and corporate strategy to align value chain activities with enterprise goals.

The role requires 7+ years in Commercial/Strategy with strong financial modeling, negotiation, and leadership skills, based in Denver/Findlay/Houston/San Antonio. Travel up to 15% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Seven (7) or more years of Commercial, Strategy, or other related experience required.

Responsibilities

• Identifies and leads logistics cost reduction and strategic placement for MPC production.
• Manages intermediated to advanced commercial relationships with third-party logistics providers.
• Leads studies on organic growth opportunities as well as potential acquisitions, mergers, or divestments.
• Performs economic evaluation and financial modeling to identify value creation aligned with strategy.
• Leads collaboration across internal stakeholders to understand needs and propose solutions.
• Co-leads cross-functional projects, develops business cases, and handoffs for execution.
• Communicates opportunities and plans to stakeholders; able to present to executive leadership.
• Demonstrates understanding of refining, midstream, marketing, and logistics operations and value contribution.
