The Motley Fool is seeking a Senior Software Developer to join a fast-paced, remote engineering team. You’ll build and maintain web apps that power millions of users, using React, Next.js, TypeScript, and related technologies.

You’ll collaborate with design, product, and leadership to shape the tech roadmap, participate in code reviews, and uphold high performance and security standards. This role offers a strong growth path and a modern remote work environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of developing highly performant and scalable web applications.
• Proficiency with agentic workflows and AI-driven automation.
• High level of proficiency in React, Next.js, Typescript, GraphQL and REST APIs.
• Understanding of backend development using Python.
• Experience with AWS.
• Experience with sophisticated application state, e.g. Apollo Client, Redux.
• Experience with Docker, containerization, and CI/CD pipelines for Python applications.
• Proven track record in high-performance teams.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Familiarity with security best practices in web development.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain web applications using a variety of technologies, including but not limited to React, Next.js, TypeScript, TailwindCSS and occasionally Python.
• Collaborate with other team members on best practices for efficient and sustainable engineering, focusing on achieving a balance between aesthetics, scalability, and performance.
• Provide and receive technical feedback through pair programming and code reviews.
• Collaborate closely with design, product, and leadership teams to anticipate future needs and align our technology roadmap with long-term goals.
