Job summary

Zenith Insurance Company in Nevada seeks an experienced workers’ compensation claims professional to investigate, analyze, and determine liability, and to settle claims within authority. The role requires Nevada residency and 5–10 years of Nevada WC claims handling experience.

You will open new claims, interview medical professionals and witnesses, set reserves, and work with employers and attorneys to reach settlements. Salary ranges reflect experience and location.

Qualifications

• Advanced technical workers’ compensation claims knowledge.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong math and reading skills.
• Meets all state regulatory standards regarding licensing, continuing education, and other requirements.

Responsibilities

• Under limited direction, works within broad limits and authority on highly complex assignments.
• Responsible for Claims management of assigned case load within guidelines of published performance standards.
• Opens new Claims, completes three-point contact, and performs needed investigations to determine compensability as well as possible subrogation or apportionment.
• Sets appropriate reserves according to Zenith’s timeframes and guidelines.
• Follows procedures for system documentation to preserve data integrity.
• Monitors and maintains accuracy of reserves over the life of the claim; re-evaluates when new information is received.
• Creates and executes action plans to bring cases to closure.
• Completes settlement evaluations and negotiates settlements with injured workers or attorneys.
• Maintains regular contact with injured workers, employers, and agents to build relationships.
