Job summary

Crusoe is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to build a platform for network tooling that supports Crusoe Cloud’s edge, backbone, and data center operations. You will design state management, scale control planes, and ensure reliable, scalable infrastructure.

The role emphasizes ownership, mentorship, and collaboration with product, operations, and other engineering teams to deliver high-availability network tooling at scale.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proficiency in at least one modern backend language such as Go, Rust, C++, Java, or Python.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems concepts: consensus, state reconciliation, fault tolerance, and high availability design.
• Track record of designing and building scalable, reliable APIs or services used by multiple teams.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code tooling (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and contribute to technical direction.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop network tooling for Crusoe Cloud's edge, backbone, and data center operations.
• Scale control plane systems reliably as Crusoe Cloud grows.
• Mentor engineers and provide guidance on code reviews and assessments.
• Collaborate with product to decide build vs. buy for control plane software.
• Partner with product and operations to align control plane needs across teams.
• Help design fault-tolerant, distributed control plane systems for high availability.
• Advocate for modern software development, CI/CD, and IaC practices.
