Crusoe is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to build a platform for network tooling that supports edge, backbone, and data center operations at Crusoe Cloud, the leading cloud provider for our deployments. This role emphasizes ownership of control plane infrastructure and reliability at scale.

The ideal candidate is a distributed systems engineer who mentors others and drives design choices that enable fast growth and high availability across Crusoe Cloud's network.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience in backend systems.
• Proficiency in Go, Rust, C++, Java, or Python.
• Strong distributed systems knowledge: consensus, state reconciliation, high availability.
• Experience designing scalable APIs or services used by multiple teams.
• Familiar with CI/CD and infrastructure as code tooling.

Responsibilities

• Design and build network state management systems for Crusoe Cloud.
• Scale control plane systems to handle growing network size and complexity.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to code quality and technical direction.
• Evaluate build vs. buy decisions for control plane software.
• Collaborate with product and operations to align with growth needs.
• Design fault-tolerant, reliable distributed control plane systems.
• Promote modern software practices, CI/CD, and IaC.
• Own initiatives from ideation to deployment with measurable impact.
