Job summary

MDH's Office of Enterprise Technology is seeking a senior Computer Network and Systems Specialist to provide leadership in network engineering for the LTSSMaryland system. You will plan, integrate, and maintain software and hardware systems, ensuring secure, reliable, and high-performing operations across primary and disaster recovery sites.

The role oversees system software releases, CCB activities, and consultation on critical components including RavenDB, data centers, and file transfer APIs.

Qualifications

• Seven years of experience designing, developing, testing, implementing and maintaining software.
• Experience with HIPAA-compliant data exchange and EDI operations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain network architecture solutions for availability, disaster recovery, security, and scalable operations.
• Monitor network performance, system availability, and operational metrics to identify issues and optimize reliability.
• Review infrastructure and application changes through Change Control Board (CCB) processes.
• Support system software releases, deployment planning, and network-impact assessments.
• Provide oversight for data centers, virtual infrastructure, and file transfer APIs and gateways.
• Support network security, disaster recovery, and compliance activities; assess risks and remediation.
• Maintain network documentation, runbooks, batch schedules, and automation processes.
• Coordinate with teams, vendors, and stakeholders to resolve network issues and ensure continuity.
• Develop reports and performance recommendations for leadership.
• Perform other duties to support LTSSMaryland stability and improvement.
