Job summary
The LTSS Maryland Application Development Architect serves as the senior technical authority for the LTSSMaryland system at the Maryland Department of Health's Office of Enterprise Technology in Baltimore. The role leads application architecture, coding standards, and enterprise solution design, guiding vendor activities and ensuring secure, scalable software aligned with state IT strategy.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
- At least 7 years of IT and business/industry work experience
- At least 3 years as a technical expert coaching and mentoring junior staff
- At least 3 years experience with Medicaid or related healthcare organizations
- Experience with code reviews, architecture reviews, software quality assurance in enterprise environments
- Knowledge of application security, system scalability, SDLC methodologies, and enterprise architecture principles
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership over application architecture, software development standards, and enterprise solution design
- Oversee vendor activities and conduct code and architecture reviews
- Ensure software solutions are secure, scalable, and aligned with state IT strategy
- Mentor technical staff and advise program leadership on complex system design and risk mitigation
- Research emerging technologies to support healthcare operations
