Job summary

Gigamon is seeking a Senior Software QA Engineer on the GigaSMART team to lead quality assurance for advanced security features in high‑performance networking products. You will design and build lab test beds, define and automate test strategies, and ensure our solutions meet rigorous security, performance, and scalability standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on QA testing in security domain.
• Proven experience with security testing of networking products.
• Ability to design and execute functional, performance, and interoperability tests.
• Experience with test automation and scripting (Python).
• Knowledge of VPNs, proxies, firewalls, IDS/IPS, encryption, LDAP/SAML.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain lab test beds for security features.
• Create, review, and manage test cases and test suites.
• Execute test plans; mix of manual and automated testing.
• Develop automated tests and integrate into regression suite.
• Investigate field escalations with support and development teams.
• Document and track defects from discovery to closure.
• Collaborate with development to improve test coverage and throughput.
• Analyze architectures to design effective tests and understand feature validation impacts.
• Characterize and resolve performance/scalability issues in complex deployments.
• Occasionally lead QA projects and deliverables; mentor junior engineers.
