Job summary

Gigamon, based in Santa Clara, seeks a Sr. Staff Engineering Technician to work with the HW engineering team on new leading-edge network security appliances.

The role covers prototype planning, bring-up, validation, and coordinating JDM/ODM/OEM projects with post-launch sustaining support. The ideal candidate has an associate degree or higher and 6–8 years of lab experience, basic board-level test and debug skills, soldering, and Linux automation scripting.

Responsibilities

• Provide support in components selection, procurement and qualification during prototype and postproductlaunch phases.
• Provide support during product bring up and qualification.
• Manage prototypes across cross functional teams along with ensuring they are at the latest revision.
• Perform basic rework in the lab and coordinate product rework through contract manufacturers and/or third parties.
• Work with engineering to support environmental and compliance testing and help ensure compliance certification is current.
• Support in creating all product related documentation, including compliance certificates, MTBF and product manuals.
• Provide support with product sustaining by helping create test setups and scripts to triage failures.
