Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a Master Network & Security Engineer to lead design, operation, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of enterprise network-security infrastructure. This remote US-based role focuses on Palo Alto NGFWs, Panorama, CA, and Strata/XSIAM, guiding incidents and architecture across SOC, cloud, and infrastructure teams.

You will mentor engineers, drive HA and segmentation initiatives, and ensure secure, reliable connectivity across users, servers, apps, and data-center workloads.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Cybersecurity or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
• 10+ years in network engineering/security and firewall administration.
• 6+ years with Palo Alto firewalls (production enterprise).

Responsibilities

• Lead design, deployment, and lifecycle management of Palo Alto NGFW environments.
• Own centralized firewall management via Panorama and device groups.
• Design security policies with zero-trust and least-privilege principles.
• Configure and troubleshoot zones, NAT, VPN, and App-ID policies.
• Mentor engineers and lead incident investigations with SOC teams.
