Job summary

Swift in Virginia seeks an experienced technical operations professional to design, deploy and manage Fortinet and Checkpoint firewalls in virtual environments. You will collaborate with a Product Owner and squad to implement solutions and follow change-management in a DevOps setting with a flexible onsite/remote balance.

The role requires 8–10 years in operational support, hands-on firewall experience, scripting in Shell/Ansible/Python, and familiarity with Jira/Confluence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field or equivalent work experience.
• 8–10 years in a technical operational support area.
• Hands-on experience with Fortinet and Checkpoint Firewalls or similar technologies.
• Hand-on experience with Firewall management platforms Forti Manager, Forti Analyzer, Checkpoint Smart-1.
• Familiarity with security policy management tools like Algosec Security Management System.
• Familiarity with SD-WAN and Zero Trust.
• Capable of troubleshooting complex network flows, interconnectivity, performance and configuration issues.
• Provisions/executes firewall requests per security policies on all environments.
• Familiarity with IaC concepts and scripting (Shell, Ansible, Python or Perl).
• Familiarity with Jira, Confluence and ServiceNow; knowledge of Git.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, configure, upgrade, and maintain Fortinet and Checkpoint Firewalls with virtual instances in line with requirements.
• Work with team to implement and operate your solutions.
• Deploy infrastructure and network software according to change management processes.
• Collaborate with internal and external customers following DevOps/Agile principles.
• Assist in developing and maintaining technical documentation.
• Interact with other internal teams to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Automate tasks and share knowledge to drive continuous improvement.
• Opportunity to develop in a true DevOps agile environment.
• Hybrid work arrangement with min 2 onsite days per week, up to 3 remote days.
• Weekend deployment activities and on-call on a rotational basis.
