Job summary

Referment is seeking a Network Reliability Engineer to own and improve a complex, cross-platform production environment across Linux, Windows, networks, and storage. You will focus on stability, automated change, and robust observability while working within a hands‑on infrastructure team.

This role targets senior engineers who can diagnose tough incidents, implement secure access via Zscaler and ISE, and push automation with Ansible and Python.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience operating production networks at scale with on-call duties.
• Strong knowledge of UDP, TCP/IP, BGP and OSPF, plus PIM/IGMP multicast.
• Extensive experience with Palo Alto, Fortinet and Cisco ASA firewalls.
• Proficient with Ansible for network automation and declarative configuration management.
• Experience writing automation in Python.
• Experience with Zero Trust and secure access (Zscaler ZIA/ZPA, Cisco ISE, FortiNAC).
• Familiar with observability tools (Splunk, SolarWinds, Zabbix).
• Technical degree or equivalent; CCNP or PCNSE desirable.
• Experience with cloud-native networking and hybrid connectivity (AWS VPC, Direct Connect, Azure Networking) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate and engineer production network infrastructure with focus on stability, reliability and safe change.
• Diagnose unfamiliar, high-impact technical problems under pressure with high attention to detail.
• Administer network, monitoring and security platforms across a cross-platform environment, with a focus on Palo Alto, Fortinet and Cisco ASA.
• Develop automation using industry-standard frameworks to remove manual work, improve efficiency and manage configuration as code.
• Implement and maintain Zero Trust architecture and secure access solutions such as Zscaler (ZIA/ZPA), Cisco ISE or FortiNAC.
• Make network health measurable through effective metrics, monitoring and diagnostic tooling including Splunk, SolarWinds and Zabbix.
• Contribute to broader infrastructure engineering projects, including cloud-native networking and hybrid connectivity.
