Job summary

Group 1001 is hiring a Sr. Network Reliability Engineer to design and operate a unified, code-first network platform across multi-cloud environments. You will implement SRE practices, create policy-driven networking, and automate edge-to-cloud connectivity with Terraform, Ansible, and Python.

You will collaborate with Cloud Data Platforms, NOC/SOC, and Cyber Security to extend reliability practices and reduce toil while mentoring junior engineers in a DevSecOps culture.

Qualifications

• Deep understanding of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VPNs, and SD-WAN architecture.
• Proven experience with infrastructure automation and scripting.
• Experience with monitoring and observability tooling.

Responsibilities

• Define SLOs and error budgets for the network platform and gate changes with them.
• Move network state into code using Terraform, Ansible, and Python.
• Express network policy as code and enforce with policy engines (OPA/Rego, etc.).
• Design, deploy, and manage network infrastructure as code.
• Operate the multi-account AWS Landing Zone and network fabric.
• Work with Kubernetes networking and service mesh tech to extend reliability.
• Improve telemetry with structured alerts and runbooks for operators.
• Mentor engineers and promote a culture of learning.
• Provide hands-on support for hardware when required.
• Lead incident response with root cause analysis and permanent remediation.
• Create runbooks and SOPs to reduce toil across teams.
