Job summary

CME Group in Chicago is seeking a Network Engineer to join our Network Operations group. You will troubleshoot enterprise level security, multicast routing for market data, and wireless issues on trading floors, collaborating with multiple teams to keep the global network resilient.

Responsibilities include leading incident analysis, implementing changes with automation, analyzing packet captures, testing new environments, and staying current with emerging networking technologies.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
Demonstrable experience in financial services networks is a big plus.
Strong knowledge of routing and switching protocols (OSPF, BGP, STP).
Experience with multicast networks and market data feeds.

Responsibilities

Lead in troubleshooting of network-based issues and coordinate incident response.
Work on simultaneous change implementations with a focus on automation and documentation.
Engage with internal/external customers; analyze packet captures.
Collaborate with engineering for operational testing and procedure gaps.
Stay updated on emerging networking technologies and multi-vendor environments.
Evaluate existing designs and propose changes as needed.
Respond to a dynamic global network with configuration management and cross-team collaboration.
