Job summary

Network Engineer - Chicago - Investment Management

We’re partnering confidentially with a global investment firm looking for a Network Engineer focused on automation and observability. You’ll help engineer and monitor a highly available, multi-vendor global network, building the capabilities needed to manage it reliably at scale.

What you’ll be doing:

• Designing, implementing and maintaining global network infrastructure


• Building network automation and self-service capabilities with tools such as Python, Ansible, and Terraform


• Developing monitoring, telemetry and alerting using tools and protocols such as Prometheus and Grafana


• Establishing network standards and improving operational processes


• Troubleshooting complex issues across network devices and services


• Working with technology and investment teams to translate requirements into network solutions

What you’ll bring:

• Extensive experience with network automation and observability


• Strong networking fundamentals, including BGP, OSPF, PIM and IGMP


• Experience with modern telemetry and traditional monitoring, including SNMP


• Experience managing network infrastructure in AWS


• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment

Experience with enterprise voice, Cisco ISE or Meraki is a plus. Familiarity with financial markets or trade lifecycles is also helpful.

The role is office-based in Chicago.
