Job summary

Wealthfront is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with Networking expertise on the Infrastructure team to work across data centers, offices, and the cloud to build and maintain critical financial systems.

You will shape future network architecture, automate infrastructure, and implement vendor-agnostic IaC solutions across physical and cloud environments. Expect on-call duties, cross-team collaboration, and occasional travel to Bay Area and New Jersey facilities.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with automation technology including Terraform, Ansible, and Chef.
• Proficiency with at least one language such as Go, Python, or Ruby and configuration management tools such as Git.
• Demonstrated experience with Linux systems.
• Experience with automating production data center environments, including hardware provisioning, network device configuration, and capacity planning.
• Proficiency with Networking protocols such as BGP, MLAG, VLANs, DNS.
• Excellent communications and organizational skills.
• BS or MS in Engineering or Computer Science or related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage our networking and server hardware, topology, and connectivity in our physical data centers and cloud.
• Design and build network telemetry, monitoring, and observability.
• Build and maintain an automated change management pipeline to deploy network configuration revisions and provision hardware.
• Ensure critical services operate reliably by triaging and fixing operational issues as an on-call engineer, participating in post-mortems and implementing improvements to prevent future issues.
• Make and collaborate on key decisions regarding the evolution of our infrastructure, such as our hybrid cloud architecture.
• Be responsible for liaising with third parties, vendors and internet service providers as well as traveling to our Bay Area and New Jersey data centers and offices for onsite networking projects.
